Tim Dunnagan Stepping Down as College of Health Sciences Dean: A Legacy of Accomplishments and Growth

Joelle Powers, who has been the college’s senior associate dean for several years, has been appointed as Tim Dunnagan’s successor. Dunnagan, who is stepping down as dean after 14 years of service, will take on the role of special assistant to Provost John Buckwalter, focusing on new academic programming in health sciences. The College of Health Sciences is hosting a recognition reception in honor of Dunnagan’s achievements during his tenure as the fifth dean of the college.

The event will take place on Wednesday, April 10 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Stueckle Sky Center’s Bronco Zone. Under Dunnagan’s leadership, significant growth and expansion have been achieved. The college has nearly doubled in size and launched three doctoral programs. Various programs have also been created and expanded, including online offerings, a genetic counseling path, and multiple certificates designed for working professionals. Additionally, an advisory group comprised of current and retired CEOs and leaders in the healthcare industry was established by Dunnagan to provide feedback and guidance on course development and major selection.
