‘Schedule of Citizen Science Trainings for Seasonal Signs’

Maine Sea Grant and the University of Maine Cooperative Extension are hosting a series of workshops next week for individuals interested in participating in the Signs of the Seasons citizen science project. This statewide initiative aims to identify and record cyclical and seasonal changes in over 20 indicator species, including milkweed, butterflies, and loons, which play a crucial role in understanding Maine’s changing climate.

The first training session will take place on April 4 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Stimpson’s Point in Brunswick. Another session will follow on April 5 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Gilsland Farm Audubon Center in Falmouth. For those unable to attend in person, a 3-part webinar series will be available.

These workshops are free of charge, but registration is mandatory for those interested in participating. To learn more about the project and sign up for the workshops, visit extension.umaine.edu/signs-of-the-seasons/training.
