Da Vinci Announces Opening Date for New Science Center in Allentown

The long-awaited Da Vinci Science Center is set to open at the PPL Pavilion in downtown Allentown, with excitement building among the community. This new education center will replace the existing facility on the Cedar Crest College campus and officially welcomes the public on May 22.

The center’s inaugural exhibit will be Dinos Alive, an immersive experience that showcases 30 life-sized animated dinosaurs from Velociraptors to the iconic T-rex. Visitors can expect interactive experiences like exploring the human body in the LVHN My Body exhibit or meeting North American River Otters in the Pocono Ravine presented by Alvin H. Butz.

Executive director and CEO Lin Erickson expressed her excitement about the opening, emphasizing the strong community support that made it possible. The center’s mission is to make science come alive and bring lives to science, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s curiosity.

In addition to exhibit galleries, the Da Vinci Science Center at PPL Pavilion will offer amenities like fully equipped classrooms, cutting-edge laboratories, and interactive workshops for visitors of all ages. There will even be a rooftop terrace for private events, adding to the overall experience of exploring, learning, and discovering at this premier science center in the Lehigh Valley.
