Kajima introduces eco-friendly concrete technology for Osaka Expo Dome

In a major development for the construction industry, Kajima Corporation has announced plans to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 70% compared to traditional methods through the use of low-carbon concrete technology. The company will utilize this innovative technology in the construction of a concrete dome that will serve as an exhibition space focused on environmental education at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo.

Located in the West Gate Zone of the expo venue, the dome will stand at a height of 5.45 meters and have an oval shape with dimensions of 23 by 18 meters. Construction of the dome is set to begin in April and should be completed by November 2024.

The use of low-carbon concrete and technology that captures CO2 during production is expected to significantly reduce emissions in the construction industry. For more information on this groundbreaking project and its potential to lower emissions, visit Japan 2 Earth (J2E).
