Freddie Freeman’s Clubhouse Unveiled at El Modena High School after Generous $500k Donation from Star Player

In the lead-up to the start of the 2024 MLB season, El Modena High School in Orange, California unveiled a new addition to their facilities – the Freddie Freeman Clubhouse. This project was made possible with the help of a generous $500,000 donation from Freeman himself, a 2020 MVP and current Los Angeles Dodgers star first baseman. The clubhouse spans 1,440 square feet and features amenities such as a locker room, team meeting space with monitors, a coaches’ office, and expanded batting cages.

Freeman’s time at El Modena saw him excel both on and off the field. He played varsity baseball for two seasons while also competing in track and field events. His impressive stats included a .417 batting average with five home runs and ten stolen bases. Freeman’s dedication to his community did not go unnoticed as he was recognized as the Orange County Register’s Player of the Year in 2007.

After being drafted in the second round by the Atlanta Braves in 2011, Freeman has since become one of the top players in Major League Baseball (MLB). His contributions to El Modena’s baseball program did not go unrecognized as he became one of their most significant alumni to ever play at that level.

The Freddie Freeman Clubhouse stands as a symbol of Freeman’s commitment to his alma mater and his dedication to giving back to his community that supported him during his early years of baseball development. The entire project cost $1.6 million, with Freeman’s contribution being the largest single private donation in Orange Unified School District history. The district covered the remaining $1.1 million of expenses.

El Modena High School has had varying levels of success on the baseball field recently, finishing with a record of 14-12-1 in their previous season after achieving success with a 22-10 record in their prior campaign.

In conclusion, El Modena High School is honored by Freddie Freeman’s generosity towards their baseball program through this state-of-the-art clubhouse facility that will serve generations of athletes who will have access to quality training facilities that were once only available for those who could afford them privately or through other means.
