The Kentucky Science Center in Louisville is hosting a special event in honor of the upcoming solar eclipse. This event will take place on April 8 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will feature a variety of special activities that will be free with admission. Additionally, a limited number of eclipse glasses will be distributed for free with admission to the event.

During the event, guests will have the opportunity to explore all 50,000 square feet of activities at the Kentucky Science Center, as well as participate in special programming that will be stationed throughout the galleries. These activities will focus on educational programming about the eclipse, eclipse-viewing safety, the principles of gravity, different cultural interpretations of eclipses and constellations, and the chance to view the partial eclipse.

Some of the activities that guests can enjoy during the event include creating pinhole cameras, streaming coverage of the eclipse from NASA, and educational activities that teach about gravity, UV rays, and more. Additionally, guests can opt to watch documentary screenings of Journey to Space 3-D in the center’s four-story theater, which explores NASA’s Space Shuttle program, the International Space Station
