Sports Emmys to Present Lifetime Achievement Award to James Brown, Renowned Sports Broadcaster

James Brown, a three-time Emmy Award-winning sports broadcaster, will receive Lifetime Achievement honors at the 45th Annual Sports Emmy Awards ceremony on May 21. The ceremony will take place at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Hall in New York.

Stephen Head, the Head of the Sports Emmy Awards, highlighted Brown’s iconic career as a host of various sports studio shows. He praised Brown for raising the bar in the world of sportscasting. Brown expressed humbleness upon receiving the award, giving credit to the people he has worked with over the years.

Adam Sharp, President of NATAS, praised Brown for his significant impact on sports media throughout his career. Brown has covered Super Bowls, championship games and has been a host on CBS Sports’ THE NFL TODAY and INSIDE THE NFL. His work as a correspondent for CBS News has also been recognized.

With over 30 years in the broadcast industry, Brown has received numerous accolades including the “2016 Pete Rozelle Award” from the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In addition to his broadcasting career, Brown is an ordained minister and a Harvard University graduate. He is involved in various charitable organizations such as GENYOUth, The Ron & Joy Paul Kidney Center at George Washington University and St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. His dedication to excellence and philanthropy has solidified his lasting legacy in the sports broadcasting industry.
