Breaking Barriers: Women Outnumber Juhas as CEOs at Helsinki Stock Exchange

1 min read
Women have surpassed men in becoming CEOs of listed companies

In recent years, there has been a significant increase in diversity at the Helsinki Stock Exchange, with women now outnumbering Juha CEOs. Responsibility consultant Kaisa Hernberg reports that there are currently ten women as managing directors of listed companies, compared to only five Juhas. This represents a positive shift towards greater gender equality in leadership positions.

Despite this progress, Hernberg believes that there is still room for improvement in achieving greater diversity among CEOs. While the number of female CEOs has increased since 2015, it is important to continue working towards a more inclusive and diverse business environment.

In 2015, the Union of Women’s Affairs found that more listed companies were led by men named Juha rather than women. However, recent calculations show that the number of female CEOs in listed companies has decreased since then. According to the Central Chamber of Commerce’s annual review of female managers, the number of female CEOs rose from one to around ten in the mid-2010s, where it has remained for the past few years.
